Digital Pedagogy Lab Cairo
In March 2016, CLT will bring a unique international professional development opportunity to AUC, the Digital Pedagogy Lab Cairo: an AMICAL Institute. The institute will be facilitated by an international team of faculty who are leading voices in the field of digital pedagogy. The institute is open to members of AUC, AMICAL institutions, or other Egyptian educational institutions who have a deep interest in digital pedagogy (thoughtful application of technology in teaching), faculty, librarians, faculty developers and graduate students. A Teaching Enhancement Program that addresses the needs of all AUC faculty and that would lead to a certificate of participation, which would count towards promotion, tenure, renewal of contract, and the AFR.
The digital humanities is a diverse field of interest to humanists, social scientists, librarians and technologists alike. Therefore, our program will involve exposure to different approaches to the digital humanities.
|CLT Day: "Beyond the Lecture"
CLT Day featured booths and posters exploring innovative educational practices and tools covering the themes of creative pedagogics, experiential learning, educational technology, formative assessment and more.
|Blended Learning Day
The day introduced the pedagogical approach of blending online with face-to-face learning and gave faculty members the opportunity to explore, through different interactive sessions, whether this may be a good approach for courses.
|SSE-CLT Teaching and Learning Forum
The first SSE-CLT teaching and learning forum was held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 to encourage dissemination and awareness of innovative practices of School of Sciences and Engineering faculty members.
| Al-Ississ Pioneers Free Online Courses in Arabic with Edraak
Following the MOU signed in May 2014 with the Edraak MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform (Queen Rania Foundation), AUC
is to provide two courses per academic year as MOOCs on the Edraak platform. CLT will be supporting the pedagogical design and assessment of AUC MOOCs.
