Sherif Abdelmohsen elected as President of the Arab Society for Computer Aided Architectural Design (ASCAAD)
Sherif Abdelmohsen, Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture, has been elected as President of the Arab Society for Computer Aided Architectural Design (ASCAAD) for the term 2020-2022. Abdelmohsen has served earlier as a member of the Board of Directors of ASCAAD during the period 2012-2015. ASCAAD is a society of scholars, researchers and practitioners in the area of computer-aided architectural design (CAAD) in the Arab World regions of West Asia, North Africa, Central Asia, Sub-Sahara Africa, and the Mediterranean. The society holds conferences and educational events hosted regularly by a different educational institution. The 9th ASCAAD 2021 International Conference will be hosted virtually at AUC on March 2-4, 2021 (ASCAAD 2021 Conference Website).
The new ASCAAD 2020 elected board of directors includes Sherif Abdelmohsen as President, Huda Salman (Robert Gordon University, UK) as Vice President, and the following board members: Mohamed Fekry (Effat University, KSA), Ahmed Shehata (Umm Al Qura University, KSA), Samar Allam (MSA University / SHM Studio, Egypt), Amar Bennadji (Robert Gordon University, UK), Chaouche Salah (Universite Constantine 3, Algeria), Mostafa Alani (Al-Mustansiriya University, Iraq), Sema Alaçam (Istanbul Technical University, Turkey), and Mohamed Maher (DesignTech, Egypt).
