Robert Colescott Exhibition Among "Best of 2021" in Artforum International
Robert Colescott: The Cairo Years, an art exhibition hosted by the AUC Visual Arts program at AUC Tahrir Square in February and March of 2021 was listed by the prestigious magazine, Artforum International, in its "Best of 2021" issue, published in December 2021.
The exhibition showcased the work and history of the American modernist painter Robert Colescott, who was the first visiting professor of art at AUC.
The exhibition was co-curated by Duncan MacDonald, associate professor of practice and director of AUC's Visual Arts program, former AUC film professor Terri Ginsberg and New York City-based art historian Matthew Weseley. Stephen Urgola and Kim Fox also contributed to the planning of the exhibition, while Heba Farid, former AUC adjunct professor and co-owner of the Tintera Gallery in Zamalek, was the exhibition's project manager.
