The Mohamed Taymour Writing Center Will Be Open
Sunday, February 12 – Thursday, May 18, 2017
Sunday – Thursday from 10 am to 7 pm
Two Locations are Available:
- AUC Library, First Floor, 1005 Carrel
- Department of Rhetoric and Composition Department, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Hall, Room P112
Appointments and Policies:
During the first week (from September 18-22) students can show up without an appointment. After September 22, students are required to sign up for an appointment.
Drop-in appointments throughout the semester are possible only when a tutor is available and a slot is open. If a student comes late by 10 minutes to their appointment, tutors can decide if they wish to work with the student or not.
No-Shows: Please let the Writing Center know within 24 hours if you need to cancel your appointment by going to the link provided in your appointment confirmation email. While there is no penalty for cancelations, you may be limited in the number of future appointments you can make and limited to drop-in only appointments.
For Their Face-to-Face Appointments:
Students are requested to bring their work either in hard copy or access their work through their email account. USBs cannot be used due to the risk of viruses.
What We Do:
The Writing Center can focus on writing issues like structure, clarity, argument, and recurring grammar problems but not content which has to be checked with the course instructor. We do not offer proofreading or copyediting services.
OWL (Online Writing Lab) will be available September 18 and can be accessed at https://pacs.aucegypt.edu/writinglab/slogin.aspx . Please note that OWL is available for GRADUATE students only.
Writing Center tutoring is available to all degree-seeking graduate and undergraduate AUC students except those registered in ELIN 0101 or 0102 or ENGL 0210.
